Funny Finley

Well life is different but it is better than I ever imagined. Finley is almost a week old. He is so amazing! God truly made all of our dreams come true. Yesterday we had our check-up at the hospital. They were amazed! Finley has already gained back his birth weight, he has beautiful skin color, his little man parts are healing wonderfully, his umbilical cord is looking good (but very gross I must say) and as my dad would say - He is an All American. If you can't tell, we adore him. Here is a funny picture of him... he makes the most hilarious faces! In this shot he is pooping!

The Big Boy- Finley Leo Tipton

You know...it was way better than I expected. We started cervadil at 10:30p last night. I dialated to a 1 and had my water broken at 6:00a this morning and pitocin started. Contractions started right away. And hard. By noon I had the epidural. Then progressed pretty rapidly after that. Gaining a cm about every 30 minutes. I pushed for about an hour and 15 minutes and then he came! So introducing out beautiful baby boy - Finley Leo Tipton. He is 8 lbs. 1 oz. and 19.25 in. long. Born at 5:46p - the time was guessed by his own Poppy (The Rev).

Thank you everyone for all of your prayers!

And then there was 1...

One day. One more day of just Jerry and I. One more night to spend alone with my husband. One more morning to wake up whenever I want. One more day to do laundry that only includes Jerry and I's clothes. One more day to go when I want, where I want and to only worry about myself. One day.
But hey...it's what we have been waiting for for three years. While in the midst of the wait we never thought the end would come. But, God is faithful. Always faithful. He said he would move us home and He did. He said he would never let us go financially and He hasn't. He said He would give us a child and He did. We cannot wait to meet Finley Leo Tipton. To see his little face and to know that he is truly a gift from God. The next post will be of our beautiful boy!

4 DAYS AND COUNTING...

Well, the final days are upon us! After going to the doctor's on Friday, we learned that my body is not getting ready to have this baby. So, they are going to give me some help. And, let me tell you, boy am I happy. They are inducing me beginning on Wednesday night at 9pm (after church) and we should have our baby boy, Finley Leo, by Thursday. He is getting too big. His birthday will be June 18, 2009. After looking through our pictures from the past 10 months, we have not gotten any with Jerry and I (with me looking massively pregnant). So here it is, just us. Won't be like this for much longer...it's kind of different to think about. We have been wanting a baby for so long now and the idea of taking care of another human is a little scary, but I know we will be fine. The funniest thing is, Jerry looked at me today while riding in the car and said, "you are really pregnant." We both started laughing. It's funny because only in the past 3 weeks or so I have started really looking pregnant. Random people are even saying things to me now. At least it only be for 4 more days!

This is a good example of how I feel lately... a bit tired and lets say DONE.

The Big Head Babies

Ok so after a long look at the pictures of the past, we have realized that maybe (I will admit) that Jerry and I both have large heads. We decided, after much laughter and showing other people, that Jerry's head is just hugely round and mine is oblong (notice I didn't say hugely).

Here are the sweet little newborn pictures....

Jerry and his Daddy

Jaime only a few days old

All I have to say is, Finley is bound to be one cute kid with parents like us!

(I'm not humble or anything, ha!)

Only A Few More Weeks...

Our appointment went well yesterday! We had the ultrasound...very different than the other two. You could see nothing - he is huge! I tell you what, some of you might have seen on the twit Jerry did that Finley's head is measuring 6 weeks bigger than his body and of course he blamed it on me and my big head. Let me set the record straight... Jerry's head is substantially bigger than mine so therefore - they will be big head buddies. Like father - like son. :) And I love them both deeply!
Now, after that, we are so excited about meeting our boy. (Who, is still a boy - we had the ultrasound tech check for us.) I was convinced that I wanted to be induced so he could be born on dad's birthday on the 13th. Now, I am okay with him coming when he is good and ready. And, hey, you never know - he could come any day now! So, we are enjoyng our last few weeks as just us. We will keep you all updated! (And, I will be soon posting a picture so you can all see how small my head was as a baby and how BIG Jerry's was...)

Fun Times With the Tiptons

Man oh man have we been busy! Between church softball with Jerry, Oneighty, work, and spending that quality time with family - we have no time left. But hey, that's why we wanted to move home! We are loving life right now! On Thursday night, Jerry and I had the opportunity to go to the Cards vs. Cubs game with mom and dad. Boy did we have fun! We packed a picnic dinner, rode the metro and even stayed until the end of the game. Oh, and we got to get our picture with Fredbird.

Just a quick update for you all...today I am 36 weeks pregnant. BUT - I have been consistantly measuring 2 weeks big every appointment. So, this week, we have an ultrasound appointment. Dr Hulsen believes that right now Finley is 6-7 lbs. and will gain 1 lb. a week until I have him. Therefore - he says we could have an 11 lb. baby boy! YIKES! (I prayed for big but not that big) He is going to check his size and then decide what we will do from there. We are hoping to have him here with us in the next 2 weeks or so! We will keep you all updated.
Have a wonderful weekend!
